The Preacher of the Takoradi Central Church of Christ, Brother Daniel Owusu Asiamah has donated two spraying machines and a gallon of chlorine to the Sekondi Central Prison to fumigate the area.
The donation, was in response to an appeal by the Regional Operations officer of the Prison, DSP Samuel Amarfio when the church donated some alcohol-based hand sanitizers and foodstuffs to the inmates recently.
Preacher Asiamah said the appeal was in order particularly, in the advent of the COVID -19 pandemic and how the Prisons were overcrowded.
"Fumigating the abode of the inmates may help control infections", he noted.
The Welfare Officer of the Sekondi Central Prison, DSP Ibrahim Yakubu was grateful to the Preacher for the swift response.
"This donation is very timely to help the authorities to fumigate the facility to protect both the inmates and officers of the prisons".
DSP Yakubu also appealed to the public to come to the aid of the facility with more Veronica Buckets and other items to help protect the inmates.
