Guinness World Record
A Ghanaian professional dancer, Boakye Frederick, has begun his attempt to secure a Guinness World Record for the longest dancing marathon by an individual (Dance-a-thon).
The dancer aims to dance for a whole week, starting from July 11, 2024, and ending on July 18, 2024.
The current record for the longest dance marathon by an individual is 127 hours, achieved by Srushti Sudhir Jagtap (India) at Dayanand College, Latur, India, from May 29 to June 3, 2023.
Srushti was a 16-year-old college student from India when she secured the record.
Boakye Frederick becomes the 8th Ghanaian to attempt a Guinness World Record.
Prior to him, Chef Failatu Abdul-Razak, Afua Asantewaa, Regina Adu Sarfowaa, DJ Sam, Seidu Rafiwu, and Atinga Nsobila Joel had all attempted to set or break records with under the Guinness World Records.
Among them, one-year-old Ace Liam became the youngest male artist recognized by the Guinness World Records.
He secured the world record for the Youngest Male Artist by a Ghanaian.
Felicity Asantewaa was also recognized as a record holder for washing the most cars by an individual.
