Emmanuel Essel, known in Showbiz as Jah Lead has expressed his disappointment in Ghanaian Promoters who he describes as lacking foresight and the tenacity to be patient to groom an artiste into a marketable brand.
“There is one problem I find promoters in Ghana, they lack foresight you know. They are not able to project and see where an artiste can be in the next two or three years so they are scared to come and work with you or poach you but immediately you come up they start rearing their head and they want to take you but by then your value will increase and they cannot afford you,” he told Bolgatanga based A1Radio’s Lexis Drive.
The artiste who is currently promoting his hit single, ‘So Solid’ noted that if Ghanaian promoters should avoid their mediocre thoughts and have the foresight to project the future of an artiste that he can become a big brand the industry will grow and will become lucrative.
“People should deal with foresight to be able to target and know that this guy is growing so maybe the next two, three years we can be here or there so that we work and achieve that height.”
Jah Lead noted that he has become the talk of town and as a result, some promoters who approached him with meager contracts are approaching him but they cannot pay him because his value has skyrocketed.
He mentioned that this is his year to conquer the world and make a statement for himself and that his fans should expect more from him.
Jah Lead is an artiste signed onto the High Grade Family Record Label which has artistes such as Kofi Kinaata, Kaakie, and others.
