On Monday 6th March, thousands of fans thronged the La Beach for an unforgettable show organised by Charter House as part of the GMA 2006 festivities.
Little did we know that an artiste was going to get hurt since all security measures were put in place to protect the artistes and calm the crowd down when they get heated up.
The fans went berserk anytime an artiste came upstage to heat the dance floor. When it was time for VIP to perform, the crowd was uncontrollable. Some wanted to come upstage with others trying to get the artistes into the crowd.
I was wondering where the security forces were at that time. Probably, they were out there having something to drink. Were they not paid to work? After all, they also needed something to quench their thirst. Am I not right? Hmmm. I reserve my comments.
All I saw was Promzy being pushed into the crowd. Finally, they succeeded in getting Promzy of VIP fame into the crowd when he was punishing them with his hot microphone tactics. It was terrible to see Promzy on the ground with sand all over him. Very terrible.
Some members of Charter House now had to double as organisers and security men ensuring that everything was in safe hands and also calm the crowd down. Ensuring the safety of the artistes and the people around was supposed to be the work of those who were paid for that and not the organisers themselves.
I think the security force did not live up to expectation. Speedy recovery to Promzy from Ghana Music.com, Charter House, Staff of Goodies Music Production, Lazzy, Prodigal and fans.
