Prophet threatens Ghana FA boss for $20,000 or Black Stars will fail at World Cup
A man claiming to be a prophet has threatened that Ghana Football Association boss Kwesi Nyantakyi that he must give him $20,000 or the Black Stars will fail to advance to the second round of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
When the GFA boss rejected the threats, Prophet Mensah Otabil further threatened to unseat him as the leader of the Ghana FA.
Mensah Otabil, who is claims to own a church in Pokuase a district of Accra, sent the threatening text message to the GFA boss over weekend claiming he will use the money to exorcise the bad results that await the Black Stars in Group G of the tournament.
Ghana faces a tough assignment at the World Cup where they face Germany, Portugal and USA which has prompted fear and opportunity for con-artists to exploit.
Mensah Otabil, who is not the fame ICGC pasotor, wrote this message.
“Hello Mr.President, I hope you are doing well. I need $20,000 dollars to facilitate the matches at the World Cup,” the text message to Nyantakyi read.
“The results I see are not favorable. It’s a draw and two losses and we need to turn things around so we can qualify for the next stage. Hoping to hear from you soon.”
When the GFA chief rejected the initial attempts, he came up with threats, daring the Ghana FA chief.
“If you want to see a miracle in this World Cup bet me, I am telling you I will prove to you I am the nation’s prophet, you have dared me. Just watch out.”
Mensah Otabil has refused to answer his calls.
He claims he prays for several Ghana players but the players mentioned have vehemently rejects the report.
The pastor is said to have used threats in the past on people in football.
