The Head Pastor of Alabaster International Ministries, Prophet Kofi Oduro, has warned politicians who desire to win in the upcoming elections to desist from disrespecting the name and legacy of Ghana’s first president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

According to Prophet Oduro, no president in the history of Ghana comes close to the achievement and leadership of Kwame Nkrumah.

“Listen to me carefully, anybody who wants to win elections in Ghana, if you disrespect Nkrumah, it will not be well with you. Listen to what I am telling you, none of you can compare your shambolic works and achievements to those of Dr Nkrumah.

“You travel to some places and people see Kwame Nkrumah as one of the angels God gave them, and you guys sit here and compare yourselves to him? He is peerless, no president in Ghana, from the second to fourth republic can compare to him,” Prophet Oduro said while addressing his congregation.

The president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, while delivering his Founders’ Day speech to the country, rejected the notion that Dr. Kwame Nkrumah is the sole founder of Ghana.

He said such a concept would be unfair to other political leaders, chiefs, and all stakeholders in the colonial times who contributed to Ghana gaining its freedom and independence from its British colonial masters.

“I speak to you this evening, rejecting completely, the notion that one man founded Ghana. While Kwame Nkrumah’s contributions to our independence are undeniable, it is important to acknowledge for ourselves that respect that the struggle for our nation’s freedom was a collective effort spanning several generations,” President Akufo Addo said in his broadcast.
