Prolific Sunyani-based rapper, Qwesi Qorang is gearing up to release a new track titled ‘2017’.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Melvina Frimpong Manso on Suncity 97.1 FM’s Showbiz 971, Qwesi Qorang lamented how difficult it is for someone to become popular in the Brong Ahafo Region—as far as creative arts and radio/media is concerned.

Qwesi Qorang who became a household name following the release of his hit track, ‘Bomenante3’ hinted that he would address so many issues affecting the Brong Ahafo Region in his upcoming song ‘2017’.

“I talked about DKM, I talked about Ghana but now I am going to talk about B/A. My new song is titled ‘2017’. I am going to talk about issues that happened in 2017 and issues in Brong Ahafo will also be addressed,” he said. “It is worrying that people have to move from Brong Ahafo before they can become popular. It is not easy. They become popular within a tinkle of an eye after their move. I will tackle all the issues in this new song,” Qwesi Qorang stated passionately.

“This song came into my mind after I performed at the Kumkum Bagya Keteke in Kumasi. The people of Ashanti knew about ‘Bomenante3’ and that really inspired me, after that I wanted to move but my Manager advised me not to do so,” he revealed. “He said if Fancy Gadam was able to make it at his own backyard then I can also do same in my home region. He told me about the trust he has in me...and enunciated that I can be the next big thing in B/A. I listened to him and promised to work hard,” the young rapper recounted.

Touting their hard work, Qwesi Qorang who has five (5) single tracks under WTM Entertainment averred that they have so many songs that they are working on. He added that they can drop ten (10) tracks within a month--but for now, they are strategizing to unleash them. The Manager of WTM Entertainment, Ras Shifo stated that the journey has not been easy but they will never give up.

“Persistence is a key in everything so it is necessary for us to complete what we have started. Many people have helped us since we started...I will use this opportunity to thank the CEO of Suncity Radio, Mr. Ransford Antwi, Melvina, Mr. Hall and anybody who contributed for their support,” he observed.
