Hiplife/Afro pop Ghanaian artistes R2Bees who were catalogued along with Torgny, LCMDF which stands for Le Corps Mince de Francoise, Cape Town emcee Mmaphuthi Morule aka Thabile Rasa and Keel Her lost out to LCMDF.
The five (5) artistes selected were carefully chosen by MTV based of their raising popularity.
Although Ghanaians round the world were urged to vote for R2Bees who have continuously churned hit songs such as 'I Dey Mad', 'Yawa Girl', 'Kiss Your Hands', 'Ajeei', 'Dance' and more, the concluding votes turned to a not.
LCMDF (Le Corps Mince de Francoise) swept MTV Iggy’s Artist of the Week. The Helsinki sisters, who signed to Sony Finland and Heavenly Recordings for their debut album Love and Nature, are a poppy, high-energy duo filled with abrasive keys, dissonant harmonies, and lyrics with Beck-sharp cleverness.
A win for the music group R2Bees would have had them featured on the MTV Iggy homepage along personal interview. Congratulations LCMDF and better luck to the ‘Ajeei’ hit makers.
