The Radio and Television Personality Awards (RTP AWARDS) has stepped up the notch in the awards events with the official presentations of award prizes to the 2014 winners.

The event which took place in Accra at the plush Alisa Hotel last Saturday 22nd January 2015 saw personalities in the Radio and Television faculty, dressed casual and formal for a Thursday night dinner, they were treated with live band music and good food.

Speaking at the event, the Chief Executive Officer of Big Events LTD, organizers of the RTP AWARDS, Mr. Prince MacKay, detailed the essence of elevating the event going into the future. “The RTP Awards over the year have suffered its fair share of challenges and it was necessary to deliver a more professional show this year, bringing on board dedicated team to execute the best awards show for 2015”

Present at the event was Mr. Kenny Andam, C.E.O of OS Petro, an inventor and a technology innovator, he was introduced as partner to Big Event ltd organizers of RTP AWARDS, and he added his voice by declaring his commitment to support the industry and asked for partnership from the stakeholders to bring success in developing the media landscape.

Award winners at the event walked away with GNA 42 and 32 inch LED flat screens and washing machines, speaking at the event the representative of GNA Home Appliances emphasized on the fluffiness in supporting the RTP AWARDS, he used the opportunity highlight on their line of products. The award package for the winners was seventy thousand Ghana cedis (Ghc70,000).

Present to pick up their prizes were Lifetime Achievement honourees, Grace Omaboe (Maame Dokono) and Kweku Sintim-Misa (KSM). The others included Best Female Radio Personality Of The Year – Jessica Opare of (Citi FM), TV Male Entertainment Show Host Of The Year – Kwadwo Frimpong (Viasat 1), Radio DJ of the year – Dj Awana (Hitz FM), Radio Male newscaster of the year (English) – Richard Dela Sky (Citi FM), TV Male newscaster of the year – Bobie Osei (Viasat1), TV female newscaster of the year – Adwoa Yeboah Agyei, Radio late afternoon show host of the year – Quofi Okyeame, Radio Entertainment show host of the year – Agyemang Prempeh (Rainbow Radio), Radio Personality of the year (Eastern Region) – Londona, and Radio personality of the year (Ashanti Region) – Frankie Taylor.

The dinner ceremony also witnessed a performance by dancehall music star, Stonebwoy. Big Events, organizers of the RTP Awards also used the ceremony to launch two new events Africa World Celebrity Awards, and Annual New Year’s Eve Ball Drop. CEO of the event, Prince Markey promised to continue recognizing the hard works and achievements of Ghanaians who make the media and entertainment industry a thriving one.

The event was climaxed with the organizers launching three new projects for the year, The RTP AWARD show, World Celebrity Award Africa and The Annual New Year’s Eve Ball Drop. The RTP AWARDS WINNERS of 2014 took home their prizes with pride and honour.
