Ace gospel musician Prophet Seth Frimpong has blamed radio presenters for not supporting gospel artistes.

According to him, radio presenters play songs they think are good for themselves but not for God which blocks a message God wants to give to His servants.

“If radio presenters realize that this song is good and it will help God and the nation but not yourselves if promoted, why not do so? Before a song can become hit in modern Ghana, it should be sorrowful, requesting something from God but not a song which is praising God. When the musician releases a song which praises God, he does not get help from anywhere.”

“So far as the song is good, please play it whether the person has money or not” Seth Fimpong pleaded.

He lamented that is sad how some gospel musicians and music producers of today have forsaken the word of God and are producing music for their personal gains.

The musician known for hit song “Okumchola” in an interview with Abrantepa on Radio Univers attributed his absence in the music to the calling of God.

He said all the songs he released years ago were God’s provision so he is not in a rush to release something which is not from God.

Commenting on the dying gospel music industry, he He added that most popular songs of today are as a result of money.

He also revealed that a producer some time ago told him that he will run at a lost because his song was not a sorrowful one.

The “Mehuri So” hitmaker also alleged that producers off late help their family members and coaches them to toe a line that will sell but not what God wants.

“Real producers who run after good gospel musicians are no more in the system. If I notice any of my relative can sing then I tell him or her the kind of song to sing that I can invest money into it to gain my profit. Someone picks his church member he thinks is good and put money into his music but he will direct him the way he wants just to get profit”

He further added that some radio presenters have blacklisted his songs and that he says do not help gospel musicians.
