Rapper Jayso wants Ghanaian musicians to look beyond money in deciding which genre they want to represent.

He told Solid FM’s Kwame Poku (Scientific) on the Solid Urban Top 10 show that “there is a business to it but it’s not enough to just make music for money, you need to get some message across and impact the people who listen to you”.

Shedding some light on HipHop in Ghana, the Rapper who is also a producer dismissed the impression that practicing HipHop in Ghana was not profitable. He encouraged young musicians to “feel free to pursue any musical genre” without making monetary concerns their main focus.

He announced a Kumasi Listening session for his 22-track album to allow fans and critics to make inputs before the album is released later this year.

He says the album “Making Tasha Proud”is ninety percent complete. One single off the album is already out with two more expected together with their videos before the album itself is released.

Jayso, known outside showbiz as Paul Nuamah Donkor also praised the quality of musical talents from Kumasi and revealed that he hails from the Ashanti regional capital.
