Gospel artiste Obaapa Christy
Gospel artiste, Obaapa Christy has stated that, rebranding from Christiana Love to Obaapa Christy has not in any way affected her career negatively, hence bringing a halt to it.
In an interview with Hitz FM she added that, she is well aware it has been a long time since she last released a song.
According to her, if she hurriedly releases songs, there will be consequences which will not be in favour of her as a person and her career in general.
“There’s no way I’d say changing my name from Christiana Love to Obaapa Christy has affected me. I have not become inactive and I never will, trust me. Even the Bible says we should say good things upon ourselves so when I say something positive about me, I believe it works perfectively well. I’ll not wait for someone else to tell me before it works, rather I know whatever I say comes to past in Jesus’ name. What I’ll say is, in God’s own time, He’ll redeem Himself through me.
“I think the last time I released a song was almost three years ago and that was one of my hit songs, Hy3br3 sesafuo. I think if I release something in a haste it won’t help in anyway. And also, by God’s grace so many people look up to me so I have to know that whatever I’m bringing out there should be helpful to everyone out there. I want to do something that will make everyone happy. Very soon I’ll release new songs.” She said.
Rumors have it that, her ex-husband Pastor Love, was her song writer so it is very likely she has no prolific writer at the moment that is why she has not been active lately. But she retorted that, she has also written few of her own songs by herself and is still writing more and at the moment she is just preparing very well to come back into the limelight.
About four (4) years ago, Obaapa Christy divorced her husband, Pastor Love hence made her changed her name from Christiana Love to Obaapa Christy. It was reported that the reason for the divorce were that, both parties had intimate relationships with other people outside their marriage. These issues brought a big feud between the marriage couple and therefore could not stand the test of time, and sadly resulted in a divorce.
