The fifth edition of Recognize, the all-High School event that brings together thousands of second cycle students across the country every year, has been held.

Thousands of young people, full of talent took to the stage of the National Theatre in Accra to slug it out in competitions across music, dance, and acting among others.

The 5th anniversary edition also featured a well-attended regional event in Kumasi on April 11. Organizers say another event is planned for the Tamale Cultural Centre this weekend April 18.

Planet 1, organizers say all two events in Accra and Kumasi were largely successful, speaking to what to expect in Tamale.

Recognize event has over the years provided a platform for young, budding talents to show off their gifts in music, dance, and poetry among others. Some of the stars it has produced include dancehall act Episode, and MTN Hitmaker 2014 1st Runner up, Emperor.

Gilbert Boakye Nhyira, its CEO says they are excited about its successes.

“The first two shows prove why it is the biggest event for high school community. It’s been five long years, and we can only be excited about the successes we’ve chalked. It’s not been easy but we’ve managed to put together back to back spectacular shows over the period.”

Recognize is a Planet One Multimedia event in partnership with is I Inspire Ghana. It is sponsored by Indomie, Vimto and Papaz Pizza among others.
