Rev. Cyril George Carstensen Lutterodt is asking Pastor Brian Amoateng of Brian Jones Outreach Ministries to ignore the apologies from blogs that published defamatory articles about him and press charges against them instead.

He is of the firm conviction this will serve as a deterrent to persons who take delight in smearing the reputation of prominent personalities with mud.

“It’s painful to be sacrificing and somebody will go and do a fake news. It’s not about numbers and eyeball. When the thing is not a good content, you don’t put it there,” he said on Asempa FM.

Controversial media personality Afia Schwarzenegger had alleged that the marriage between business mogul Dr. Kwaku Oteng and Sally Akua Amoakowaa Mensah widely known as Akua Ghana Most Beautiful had collapsed after the husband discovered the wife had been cheating on him.

The comedienne mentioned that the wife had been having an affair with 'Pastor Amoateng'. Yen.com.gh and ghanacelebrities.com subsequently made a publication concluding that the said pastor was Brian Amoateng.

After lawyers of Pastor Brian Amoateng issued a statement to demand a retraction and apology from the blogs for publishing defamatory articles about their client, both blogs did the needful.

While ghanacelebrities.com said it erroneously made conclusions, yen.com.gh asked Pastor Amoateng to take “into consideration Matthew 6:14-15, which says: ‘for if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive your sins’.”

But Counsellor Lutterodt, as he is affectionately called says the apology is not enough.

“Why will you do this? Are you destroying a home? You’re now quoting scriptures in your apology note after he threatened to sue,” he mentioned.

“The Brain family are accepting the apology because they are pastors… He has apologized but I expect them to sue this guy using him as a scapegoat. They should sue him, cost him huge damages.”
