Renowned Actress explains why celebrities live fake lives

Nollywood actress, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde has advanced some reasons why celebrities in Africa live fake lifestyles far above their means.

According to her, their fake lifestyles is a reflection of African society where celebrities always want to be seen at every event.

She revealed that the African society tends to place premium on wealth and therefore accord much respect to people perceived to be rich than the ordinary persons who live average lives and within their means.

“We live in a society that respects wealth more than the substance people has to offer. So since people are looking for respect most times, they live way above their means so that people can respect them”, she revealed.

Omotola however observed that celebrities can live within their means by not necessarily showing up at each event.
