Renowned Nollywood actor Kanayo O. Kanayo has expressed his concerns over the apparent lack of gratitude shown by individuals who receive financial aid.
The actor took to social media to address this issue, stating how some people receive financial help only to reply with ‘seen’.
Kanayo O. Kanayo stated that such a response is both disrespectful and shows an entitled attitude.
“Hello, my friends, I have one question. Why are many people very ungrateful? You do somebody a favour by sending him or her money and the person receives it and sends you a text saying ‘seen’? Seen? Come on! Do you think it is your right? This is an inheritance mentality; many people exhibit this behaviour and it doesn’t show that you are being grateful,” he expressed in an Instagram post.
He urged people to learn to respect and show gratitude when helped. He added that such acts would likely encourage the giver to offer more help.
"Gratitude unspoken is ingratitude spoken. It is not your right so learn to be grateful for whatever someone does for you. That way, the person will be encouraged to do more. Stop being selfish; be grateful, as nobody owes you anything. Wishing everyone a beautiful week ahead,” he said.
