After her sterling performance in Venus Films’ ‘4play’, actress Roselyn Ngissah is fast becoming a force to reckon with in Ghana’s thriving movie industry.

Roselyn caught the eye of enthusiastic movie fans as well as producers with her role in ‘4play’. Recently, there were talks of top Ghanaian movie producers expressing their satisfaction with her delivery in the movie. Interestingly, her role in ‘4play’ happens to be Roselyn’s first ever lead, which she starred alongside Jackie Appiah, Majid Michel and John Dumelo.

“I had always yearned for this. It was a dream come true and I think Abdul Salam (CEO of Venus) believes in my ability to act that is why he called me for the role,” she said to BEATWAVES. In the movie, she played a nagging wife to Majid after winning his heart via juju but the marriage was not sustainable.

Majid’s character rejected her and always made mockery of her plus-size figure like her pals Juliet Ibrahim, Yvonne Okoro, and Jackie Appiah always did. After the juju ploy failed, she set out to trim her plus-size figure to catch the attention of her man. Here, her dexterity comes to play.

BEATWAVES has gathered that Roselyn’s shine in ‘4play’ is aiding her to get more roles. She no longer goes for auditioning, and with some producers now coming to terms with her acting prowess, they call her to pick up scripts.

She told BEATWAVES that she is warming up for yet another exciting movie with the working title ‘Somewhere In Africa’, by Heroes production, producers of ‘Sin Of The Soul’, ‘Heart of Men’, and ‘The Game’.

She is playing a supporting role as a soldier in the new movie. This is the first time she is playing a soldier and she said fans should look out for sheer entertainment from her.

“I will definitely serve movie lovers some good entertainment. Fans should just pray for good health and life; I’m ready to unleash the best of me. Hey! They should watch out,” the eloquent actress added.

Roselyn is undoubtedly a good material in the make-believe industry and most industry players always attest to that fact. She had been sidelined with complaints about her size but her acting prowess is now doing the job for her.

Over the years, she has played a number of minor roles in a number of big movies and TV series. Among them were ‘Reckless’, ‘Broadway’, ‘I Stand Accused’, ‘Princess Tyra’, ‘Power of the gods’, ‘Last Victory’, ‘My Sister’s Honour’, and ‘Sin Of The Soul’. She also starred in Sparrow production’s ‘A Sting In A Tale.’

Acting, for Roselyn, is innate. Her mum, a teacher, actually discovered her acting skills. When she was in primary school, anytime they had Christmas drama shows, her mum always tried to involve her, though she was shy.

Somehow, she got interested in it and from there, she joined the Drama and Debaters clubs till she entered the University of Ghana and finally mainstream acting.
