On Saturday, October 1, the Rotary Club of Accra Ring Road Central (RRC) will embark on a sponsored walk through the principal streets of Accra. The walk will serve two main purposes – raise funds for RRC’s community work whilst raising public awareness of Rotary International’s polio eradication drive.

RRC aims to raise GHC50,000 to support its numerous community projects through its premiere fundraising event, ‘Walk for a Child’. Funds from this walk will go towards the completion of a school project in the village of Asempaneye in the Eastern Region of Ghana, medical outreach in the Accra suburb of Maamobi and the rehabilitation of some facilities at the Maamobi Hospital.

Victor Yaw Asante, President of the Rotary Club of Accra Ring Road Central, and West Africa Regional Head of Transaction Banking at Standard Charted Bank states, “As Rotarians it is our duty to serve our communities. Each member of RRC is committed to making a difference to our communities and the world at large. We do this by raising funds, and spending those investments wisely in the most deprived communities of Ghana. We need everyone to come on board so that together we make a difference. Individuals, groups and corporate bodies are all welcome to contribute to RRC’s fundraiser by walking for a child, supporting a member of RRC to walk for a child or contributing cash or goods in kind to RRC’s fundraising efforts”.

‘Walk for a Child’ commences on Saturday 1st October at 7.00am at the Barclays Club House in Ringway Estates, Accra. If you wish to make a donation to RRC please contact Nana Yeboah Owiredu on 0244 305 243
