Rapper, Dadie Opanka, has countered claims of Rex Omar, requesting that churches pay royalties.

Dadie Opanka was speaking to Atinka FM on Friday in an interview.

He emphasised that concentration should rather be in clubs, radio and event centres and not churches.

“Let’s leave churches to play the gospel music because they do that to praise their maker and that is right. Taking royalties from them won’t be worth it. It will limit churches from singing some songs if they are not able to pay,” he said.

The ‘Dada Ba’ singer indicated that, with regards to collecting royalties, clubs and radio station who make much money playing secular music, should be targeted.

“If we are not able to collect royalties from the radio stations and clubs, why then do we involve the church in this? Let’s leave the churches to play gospel music without any royalties. It is an achievement if your gospel music is played in church to praise God.”

Touching on the nude picture posted by the famous actress Christabel Ike, he cautioned the youth not to learn from the negative conducts of some role models.

“…the models are humans and they have their short coming. I don’t have any issue with what she did but I urge the young ones to learn from the positive side of every celebrity they choose.”

He invited his fans to check out on his latest release ‘Wedding Car’, which is already enjoying massive airplay.
