Northern Region’s Linda Issahaku Rukiatu, known in Ghana’s Most Beautiful VIII as Ruky, suffered the latest eviction of the show on Sunday, September 21.
Though named the week’s most disciplined representative, Ruky – who won the maiden best performer award – seem not to get votes in her favour.
Together with Ashanti Region’s Abena and Greater Accra Region’s Achawa, Ruky had to depend on the judges for salvation as they were bottom on the voters' log.
But the judges saved Abena and Achawa.
The night, as usual, lived up to the billing as the seven contestants brought tears to the faces of the live studio audience, with their acts on widowhood rites.
They showed how widows are treated - in most cases badly - in what seems to have been hidden in cherished rites of some ethnic groups.
Judge Linda Ampah, who appears passionate about women’s issues, called for a stop of the practice and advised women who go through such heinous acts to report to the police.
Upper West Region’s Baci, for the second successive week, emerged the Star Performer.
With Ruky’s exit, six are left to battle for a place in the final.
