Samini Speaks On M.T.N Deal And New Movie

As the level of radio stations keep increasing, payola also keeps rising which is helping many musicians find different ways of promoting their albums before releasing them onto the market.

In an interview with Batman Samini who has just released his album Sweet Mistake but concentrating on TV promotion currently, he told Flex newspaper that his main reasons for concentrating on TV promotion is he has realized promoting music on radio is a long process compared to TV.

“The more you promote your music on TV, you realize that the people live with the song. I experienced this at the time I was promoting the Odo song and where my baby dey” he added.

To him, he is happy that he has been nominated for African best for so many times since it has always been his dream to be part of the top five African best musicians. He also intends to hit the Grammys before he stops doing music. He has realized that he will soon hit the Grammys any moment from now.

Talking about some of the things which are not favoring him in the industry, he lamented that it is very bad the way people try to become popular by attacking other music stars. “I remember a story Flex newspaper published about Sugar Ranking, saying I am not matured and that he taught me a lot of things without appreciation. “I will say that most of the things he said are all lies and since then, Sugar Ranking has never been able to approach me because he knows what he did was not right” he added.

He continued that anytime he hears such stories, he decides not to comment on it because the more he comments, the more he gives people the opportunity. “It all started from K.K Fosu, then to Screw Face re-mixing my music to diss me and then it continued to Bandana to Sugar Ranking and now one artiste I have never seen before, who gave his name as Jado. When I tried calling his number, it went to the wrong person so you can realize that these people are not people you should pay attention to, they all do baseless arguments” he added.

For those who think M.T.N has ignored Samini, he has said that his term just ended but they are looking forward for a renewal. He assured fans to look forward to what will happen between his management and MTN soon since he is of the conviction that all will be well with the Yellow brand.

For movie fans who have missed his escapades in Fresh Trouble, he says he is on set shooting his latest movie directed by Frank Rajah alongside beautiful actress Yvonne Nelson.

Samini debunked rumours that he wants to make Yvonne Nelson his third wife adding that they are just shooting a movie with no attachments involved so fans should leave them alone. Samini also featured in Coz Ov Money, a musical video which starred One love Kuborlor and rap MogulMensah.
