Dancehall artiste, Samini has sought to clarify that his song Igwe which was recorded during his days as Batman was never directed at KK Fosu.

Samini, KK Fosu and Kokoveli teamed up to record hit songs in 2002 and won the hearts of many music fans. The ‘group’ which became known as the Hiplife Trinity ‘split’ leaving industry watchers to speculate the cause of the separation.

It would be recalled that KK Fosu after featuring Samini on Sudwe Sudwe composed a song titled Oga to respond to Samini’s Igwe track.

But speaking on Peace FM’s Entertainment Review on Saturday, Samini explained that his song was not a diss to KK Fosu.

“I composed a track called Igwe and a line in Gogome’s lines said, ‘You for remember Sudwe Sudwe and co…” So KK felt Gogome said he will let their current go low. But Gogome was trying to tell the people that they should remember things Batman has done ‘Sudwe Sudwe and co’. KK took it personal based on the rap of that song and came with Oga,” Samini saidto dispel assertions that he always has issues with his fellow artistes.

On why the group split, Samini said his attention on his solo album made the other members think he was going solo.

According to him, both Kokoveli and KK Fosu had their albums and it was time for him to come out with his own album as well.

“I featured on both Kokoveli and KK’s tracks. Both were solo artistes with albums. I was only featuring on their songs and other people’s songs, getting ready to go into the studio to do my album. So the misunderstanding started coming when I didn’t have too much time to go on road with them because I had to do Batman. Trinity wasn’t a group like Praye or VVIP. It was even the newspapers who wrote that name first before we took it on ourselves. My group felt I was going solo but I was doing my album, Samini explained.
