Samuel Anakwah, known in the showbiz industry as Sammy Tuger, a Ghanaian cinematographer and the CEO of Anak Studios, has achieved a significant milestone in his filmmaking career by securing a contract to work on a Hollywood TV series.

Based in the United States, Sammy Tuger has already completed three episodes for the series, which Gaines Family Productions is producing.

In this project, Sammy Tuger serves as the cinematographer, also known as the Director of Photography, a role that sees him overseeing the visual aspects of the production.

Additionally, his company, Anak Studios, has been entrusted with managing the entire production process—from pre-production to post-production—highlighting his comprehensive involvement in the project.

Speaking about his experience on set, Sammy Tuger shared insights with Ghanaian Blogger Attractive Mustapha, noting key differences between filmmaking in the USA and Ghana.

“Here in the USA, they don't rush through scenes like we often do in Ghana. If there are just five scenes scheduled for a day, we take our time to shoot them well,” he explained, emphasizing the meticulous approach to filmmaking he has encountered in Hollywood.

Since relocating to the United States three years ago and establishing his own studio in Buffalo, New York, Tuger has broadened his expertise in the industry.

He has filmed three movies in Europe and worked on several short films in the USA.

However, this Hollywood series marks his first major project since moving to America.

Reflecting on his journey, he said, “I will say yes, it’s better because I have learned a lot in filmmaking since I relocated here in the USA than when I was in Ghana.”

Despite his success abroad, Sammy Tuger remains connected to the Ghanaian film industry.

During a recent visit to Ghana, he shot "The Widow's Gift," a film produced by popular actress and producer Juliet Ibrahim.

The movie has already garnered critical acclaim, receiving two nominations at a film festival in Nigeria.

Sammy Tuger's transition from Ghana to the global stage demonstrates not only his talent but also the growing influence of Ghanaian filmmakers in international cinema.

His journey serves as an inspiration to aspiring filmmakers, showing that with dedication and the right opportunities, it is possible to achieve global recognition in the industry.
