Residents of Osu and its environs had more than enough music to enjoy last Saturday when the best of Ghana’s artistes stormed the Black Stars Square for the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) Celebration Jam.
The jam, sponsored by Vodafone Ghana, had on its bill Sarkodie, Samini, Kuami Eugene, MzVee, Stonebwoy, Kidi, Kwesi Arthur, Strongman, Patapaa, Joyce Blessing as well as some underground artistes, pulled a huge crowd.
“Obidi pon bidi” as affectionately called, who came later than expected got the large crowd screaming on top of their voices when he started his performance with ‘Revenge of Spartans’.
He continued his performance with popular songs like ‘Original, Push, Burger, Baby, and one of the biggest songs off the “Highest” album, titled “Glory” featuring Yung L.
The ‘Rap King’, who earlier this month won the “Best Rapper” award at the 2018 VGMA’s made fans become more confident in their support for him.
With shouts of joy and excited movements, fans danced through Sarkodie’s performances from beginning to end, not ready to miss a second of it.
However, BhimNation President, Stonebwoy, who came earlier before Sark, on the other hand, had a wonderful night with his fans. Arguably one of the popular musicians, the crowd was already singing to his popular song, ‘Tomorrow’ before he started performing.
Stonewboy performed hits songs including, Run Go, Bawasawa, Dirty Enemies, Hero, My Name and others.
The outdoor event dubbed, ‘VGMA’ Celebration Jam” saw several fans flood the forecourt of the Black Star Square to have a thrilling experience with their favourite artistes.
The 2018 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards Celebration concert was held to officially close the chapter on this year’s awards.
