Rapper Sarkodie was among several public figures who graced this year’s edition of the International Youth Empowerment Summit (IYES).
He joined Archbishop Duncan-Williams, Rev Eastwood Anaba, and many other personalities to minister to thousands of young people who gathered at the National Theatre from August 21 to August 23.
The speakers at the program also included, Amma Frimpomaa Dwumah, John A. Kumah, Bola Ray, Zanetor Rawlings, Jackie Appiah, Chioma Akpotha, Sampson Amoateng, Daniel Amoateng, Brian Amoateng, and a host of Ghanaian celebrities.
The BET award-winner spoke about the need to overlook negativity and forge ahead even during challenging times.
Sarkodie during his interaction with the youth recounted days when he used to rap in a ‘trotro’ with his colleagues.
He stressed that during those moments, he still believed that he was going to become a global icon.
Sarkodie wrapped up his session with a ministration of his inspirational song titled ‘Hope’.
