Sarkodie takes family along on US tour

Ghanaian rapper and multiple-award winner, Sarkodie, has tagged along his mother and sister on his tour of the US alongside Ghana’s Artistes of the Year R2bees.

It’s unusual to see a Ghanaian artiste on a musical tour with a parent but the eighth richest and bankable African artiste as postulated by Forbes in 2013 is breaking grounds.

Sarkodie, took to his twitter handle to post a group picture of himself and members of his management team at the airport yesterday which included his mom and sister.

He tweeted: “I need home love so taking mum n sis with me .... jollof on tour lol”.

Madam Emma Maame Aggrey, Sarkodie’s mom has been spotted at most of her son’s shows including the VGMAs leading his support base.

Sarkodie in an earlier interview said it was because of his mom that he returns from most of his trips. This time around he has his mom, who runs a catering food joint at Tema, with him.

It is not clear when the tour would end but this weekend it begins with a show in Columbus, Ohio.
