With just a few days to the much anticipated ‘Rapperhoilc Concert’, Sarkodie seems to be in hot waters looking for money to pay artists.
Somehow, the ‘Highest’ musician appears disappointed with the seemingly colossal amount being demanded by reggae/dancehall act Shatta Wale as the charge to perform at the 2017 Rapperholic Concert.
In an interview with Sammy Forson on Live FM, Sarkodie revealed the amount of money Shatta Wale is charging. According to Sakordie, he has not been able to pay Shatta Wale the full sum he demanded. But he hopes to do so before Sunday, Sarkodie said.
“Shatta Wale is charging me 200k to perform at the Rapperholic Show.” “So far, I have been able to raise more than half of it and hopefully by Sunday, I will add some money to make up the 200k he is demanding,” Sarkodie disclosed.
The Ghana-international singer and rapper’s voice didn’t seem cheerful during the interview. An obvious indication that he is not happy with the amount Shatta Wale is charging him. The two have been good industry players and friends, with a number of songs together. Songs including ‘It’s my life’, ‘Game Boy’, ‘Megye wo girl’ and many others on which Sarkodie and Shatta Wale collaborated turned out to be massive hits.
The fifth Rapperholic Concert is set to roll on December 25, 2017, at the Accra International Conference Centre, after it was officially launched in Accra. It is being organized by Sarkodie’s label, Sarkcess Music in collaboration with A-Team Productions.
Organizers have hinted that this year’s edition is going to be super as top international artistes have been billed to perform at the Rapperholic Concert.
The organizers, however, are tight-lipped on who and who will be performing on the night.
