The funeral of Mrs. Kate Opoku-Acheampong, the mother of Dr. Kwame Osei Kwame Despite’s wife, was marked by a series of significant events.
Following a memorial service in Accra, her mortal remains were airlifted by helicopter to Mampongten in the Ashanti region, for the final funeral rites.
The family, along with Despite’s long convoy of luxurious vehicles, gathered at the landing site to receive her body.
The business mogul led the procession from the Kumasi airport, accompanied by his children, other family members, and friends, including Dr. Ernest Ofori Sarpong, Fadda Dickson, and members of the East Legon Executive Club.
Many mourners broke down in tears as Mrs. Opoku-Acheampong’s remains touched down in her hometown.
Subsequently, Despite’s wife, Ewurama Osei was seen in the company of consolers, weeping uncontrollably at the funeral grounds as she bid her mother farewell.
The late Kate Opoku-Acheampong was finally laid to rest on Thursday, October 10, 2024, in her hometown of Mampongten in the Ashanti region.
The funeral is set to continue in Accra on Saturday, October 12, 2024.
