Sean PaulIn case you missed it, the news was broken last night on Bola Ray?s popular Drive Time show on Joy 99.7 FM. Sean Paul Ryan Francis Henriques, winner of 2004 Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album, is slated to perform in Ghana on December 9, 2006 at the Accra International Conference Centre.

It was revealed when Bola Ray spoke live on air to Babs, the man in charge of Babs Entertainment, organisers of the event, via phone. Prior to this disclosure, Bola has been dropping hints about it on his radio show.

Sean Paul?s live concert in Ghana has been rumoured many times but never has it been made official on a radio station as credible as Joy FM. Another well-known international star, Akon, is to touch down for the concert as an MC.

The dream of many Sean Paul fans will come true on that night and it looks like Ghanaians are gearing up for a December to remember this year.

The show shall also witness the launch of Bab?s clothline for the first time in Ghana as well as performances from renowned Ghanaian artists.

Batman Samini, a well-known Raglife star in Ghana told SHOWGHANA.COM he?s ready anytime for the show. That he?s also holding it firm here in Ghana and when the time comes Ghana?s dancehall stopper will show what he?s got up his sleeves.

Although it is yet to be confirmed which Ghanaian artist will perform during the Sean Paul concert, a few of them SHOWGHANA.COM spoke to see it as welcome news and are gearing up for it.

Coming hard on the heels of the Jay Z concert, which came with issues of respect between international stars and Ghanaian artists, Sean Paul?s live concert is expected to bridge the gap between African (black) artists at home and those abroad. Keep reading for more on this.
