RWUL’s 2nd Annual “I Luv Africa” Film Festival (ILAFF 2014) in Ghana will be celebrating the work of independent filmmakers of African descent from around the world.

This year’s theme is: “Connecting the Diaspora” showing films from filmmakers with diverse backgrounds. ILAFF is not about just about films highlighting Africa, but rather about authentic stories from artists of African descent and giving them a platform to share their work with an international audience.

RWUL’s ILAFF 2104 in Ghana will be a week-long event this year with screenings, workshops, and special promotional events along with a wrap party. Also this year RWUL is producing and working on a documentary film about ILAFF to be released at next year. Ghana provides the perfect back drop for ILAFF because the film and cinema culture is still young and growing in Ghana. RWUL’s main role is to make ILAFF an annual platform for local filmmakers in Ghana to present their work and to grow within the industry.

ILAFF is expanding and this year’s festival will have special hosts Mutombo Da Poet and Rita Anang-Kusi helping usher in the festivities. We will be screening: COZ OV MONI 2, Better Mus Come, Tengo Talento, Let’s Stay Together, Afripedia’s Angola Series, An African City, Chale Wote 2013 in Reverse, Clairvoyant, The Analyst, Eti Koro Ntu Egyina, Gold is Here, The Ghana Grudge, I Won’t Cry, and the best of ILAFF 2013 special selection. Also more films will be announced as the event gets near.
