Security man in court for stealing

Accra, Feb 26, GNA- Eric Owusu, a Security Officer with the Westec Security Company on Wednesday appeared before an Accra Circuit Court together with Gilbert Fiifi on charges of unlawful entry and dishonestly receiving.

Owusu and Fiifi pleaded not guilty and were remanded in prison custody to reappear on March 1.

Prosecuting, Police Inspector Margaret Awuni said the complainant Mr David K. Wuaku has been experiencing series of thefts at his residence. Inspector Awuni said the complainant on February 18, 2003, detected that the keys to his main door had disappeared and confronted Owusu who denied knowledge of it.

She said Mr Wuaku on February 22, returned from church and noticed that someone had entered his bedroom and made away with personal belongings and a cash of five million cedis.

The prosecution said the complainant suspected Owusu and made a report to his employers and after a search at his residence at Teshie Nungua, some of the items were found.

She said the accused was arrested and he mentioned Fiifi as the person who bought the stolen camera at 50,000 cedis.
