Ghanaian highlife and afrobeat singer, KiDi has said that seeing broke veteran musicians scares him.

Speaking in an interview with Bismarck Boachie (DJ Premier) on Entertainment Capital on Accra100.5FM on Saturday, 22 September 2018, KiDi said his fear is to end up broke in the future as he sees many veteran musicians now broke any time he goes for events with his family.

“Sometimes when my family and my friends go out to see these veteran musicians and the way they are living now, despite all the hit songs they released and the tours they did across the world, and seeing them like this today with no money, some of them even ask for money to do their surgeries, it scares my family and they ask if that is how I’m also going to end up, sometimes all these scare us.”

The Odo singer advised his fellow musicians to invest while they are making money because good times do not last forever.

“I won’t blame Ghanaians that they don’t treat the industry people well, sometimes I feel like there is a hail period for every artiste to make money, and, so, we should try to invest our money so that in the future if the money is not coming like the way it used to, we’ll still have something to work with.”

The 25-year-old singer shot to prominence in 2017 when he released Say You Love Me, a song he not only composed but also arranged and produced.

KiDi established himself as one of the fastest-rising stars in Ghana when he released another hit song titled "Odo" in July 2017 and the remix, featuring Mayorkun and Davido in December 2017.
