Atlanta-based Ghana-born singer, songwriter and producer Selasi aka The African Kid has shown a lot of love to the ghetto girls working hard to get their own, on his first single off his forthcoming album. ‘Ghetto Girls’ featuring Rasheeda, one of the fastest growing female rappers in the US, is a smooth infusion of reggae and hiphop that brings to bear Selasi’s diversity both in style and depth.
The two have collaborated on several tracks in the past usually with Selasi as guest vocalist and producer. A simple Black and White music video was released this week for the single and already it has become a hit on several video sharing sites. It shows several ghetto queens and flashes of Selasi and Rasheeda in between verses. View Video
