The Ghanaian music industry has given birth to many musicians but few of them are able to produce beats for their songs. Highlife singer, Bisa Kdei and Shatta Wale of “Kakai” fame are among the few who try their best to work on their own songs making sure they get the quality needed.
Shatta Wale despite his effort to produce his own songs has been chastised severally for poor sound quality but sound engineer, Dr. Ray Beatz has noted the improvement in his recent music instrumentation.
Dr Ray Beatz of Talent House Recording Studio in an interview with Zionfelix.com commenting on musicians producing beats for their songs opined that it is a step in the right direction.
“At first Shatta Wale’s song wasn’t that good but now you can hear the good quality when you pick his recent songs. Same applies to Bisa Kdei, when you listen to his songs, you can hear the good sound quality
I think they are only just producers. When they produce the beat, they give it to a professional sound engineer to do the final work for them”
Dr. Ray Beatz has been nominated for the Best Producer of The Year at this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards
