Charles Nii Armah Mensah (Shatta Wale) returns to the US this July for a New York gig in his After The Storm US Tour.
The concert takes place at the PlayStation Theatre on July 1st, and is put together by LVC Entertainment, Boogie Down Nima, and TM Entertainment.
Shatta Wale’s Take Over (featuring Captan, Addi Self, and Joint 77) is the biggest song in the country currently. Together with other flaming records as Ayoo, Umbrella, and Bumper, it further solidifies his reputation as perhaps, Ghana’s most influential musician –something which has been the case for five years straight.
Before the New York Show, Shatta Wale looks to defend Ghana’s flag against his Nigerian counterparts as Tiwa Savage, Davido, and Falz in the 7th edition of Empire‘s GhanaMeets Naija Concert slated for May 27. He will be joined in this task by “god mc” M.anifest.
The launch of After The Storm, Shatta Wale’s current album (released in April 2016) was witnessed by a crowd 50, 000 strong. Held at the Black Star Square in Accra, it is the biggest album launch ever witnessed in Ghana. It birthed certified hits as Mahama Paper, Chop Kiss, Reality, Too Much Chemical, Kill Dem Wif Prayers, Dancehall King, If I Collect, Kakai, and Hol it.
Frontman of the Shatta Movement, he was recently named ambassador for Vodafone Ghana’s VIM campaign.
