Former heavyweight rap champion now turned evangelist of the Gospel, Abraham Philip Akpor Kainya well known as Lord Kenya has added his voice to arguments that Ghanaian dancehall artist Shatta Wale deserved to be nominated in this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
Speaking in lengthy interview with Bola Ray on Empire FM in Takoradi, the musician who until few years ago maintained the accolades best performer and rap champion said Shatta Wale remains the biggest artist of 2015.
Although a bit reluctant in answering a question as to who the biggest artist in Ghana is at the moment, the multiple award winning artist stated Shatta Wale had enjoyed heavy rotation on radio and deserved to be crowned the biggest musician of 2015.
He also believed it was not right for organizers of the Ghana Music Awards to sideline him.
“That’s where I have the problem, it’s his personality you have a problem with and not his music. His music is doing well…”, he stated.
Lord Kenya has for the past six years since been saved dedicated his life to ministry and heads a church in Kumasi.
