Shatta Wale is the highest-earning Ghanaian musician on YouTube - Survey

Ghanaian music artistes have always had the problem not earning enough from their craft.

Problems like piracy and non-payment of copyright royalties have combined to deny artistes their much deserved revenue.

But for those who know their way around social media, they tend to leverage the influence to make bring in some extra revenue especially through their YouTube channels.

A Ghanaian digital marketer, Samuel Barimah, has conducted a research into the YouTube earnings of Ghanaian artistes.

Using statistics from socialblade.com including the subscription counts and views of these celebrities he has put together a list of the highest-earning Ghanaian musicians on YouTube.

According to Barimah's survey Dancehall King, Shatta Wale topped the list followed by Sarkodie, StoneBwoy, Bisa K'Dei and Becca.
