The King of African Dancehall and currently the most sought after Ghanaian musician, Shatta Wale, on Friday 1st July 2016 commenced his much talked about “One Nation One People” campaign at Techiman in the Brong-Ahafo region.
The “One Nation One People” is a peace advocacy initiative which seeks to promote peace and stability in the country before, during and after the upcoming general elections in November.
Shatta Wale together with his management team paid a courtesy call on the chiefs of the Techiman Traditional Council on their arrival in town. They presented assorted drinks, stationary and copies of Shatta Wale’s recently launched album “After The Storm” to the chiefs which was received by the administrator of the council.
The Shatta Movement team went on to donate educational materials as part of the “Shatta Wale Back to School” campaign to some schools which were selected in by the team in collaboration with the regional unit of the Ghana Educational Service as well as the Techiman Traditional Council.
The “One Nation One People” campaign just like the donation of the educational materials were done at the forecourt of the palace of the paramount chief of the Techiman Traditional Council. In attendance were the chiefs of the traditional area, members of the media, school children, representatives from the various educational institutions in Techiman, fans of the dancehall king and members of the general public.
