Controversial Ghanaian dancehall artiste, Charles Nii Armah Mensah, aka Shatta Wale, has received only 1313 views on the Zylofon Cash platform with his ‘Gringo’ video.

This according to statistics translates into only GH¢35 after uploading the video on content monetization platform for 3 months. Shatta Wale’s ‘Gringo’ is arguably the most hyped song in Ghana which trended for days before and after its release on various platforms.

The video of the song, which was shoot in the province of Blanco, Texas in the United States, went on to top music chats in both Ghana and abroad. However, “Gringo” which was first music video to be premiered on Zylofon Cash, a content monetization platform owned by Zylofon Media has amassed a disappointing 1313 views after being on the platform for 3 months.

Interestingly, the same video has over 1.8million views on Youtube, with a lot more interactions and engagements. Checks by Eonlineghana.com revealed that the views of Wale’s ‘Gringo’ on Zylofon Cash means that the artist can only earn a little over GH¢35, which is not even enough to cover the cost of Zylofon Cash access card, which is sold at GH¢300.

This is said to have raised concerns among many young talented artistes who are uploading their creative works on the the Zylofon Cash platform.

Many of the views that if Shatta Wale, an artist with all the influence and following cannot break-even after having his content on the platform for 3 months, then there is no hope for up and coming artistes with little or no influence.

Ghana’s biggest record-signing company, Zylofon Media launched Zylofon Cash to help young musicians monetize and make money out of their creativity.

Access card to the much-talked about Zylofon Cash platform may cost any artiste GHC300 in order to upload content on the platform.
