Shatta Wale’s new management put their personal feelings over his – Bulldog

Artiste manager, Lawrence Nana Asiama Hanson, popularly known as Bulldog has said that management of Shatta Wale could not defend the artiste on his controversial ‘WMT’ song because of the nature of the piece.

According to Bulldog, the lyrics of ‘WMT’ were too explicit which made it impossible for anyone to defend the song.

In what seemed to be a comparison between ‘WMT’ and ‘Talk Talk’ which was released at the time he was managing Shatta Wale, Bulldog said even though ‘Talk Talk’ had explicit lyrics, the song had a storyline which made some radio presenters fall in love with it and subsequently decided to get an edited version to play on their shows.

“Nobody [from his management team] came to defend him when the issue came up so it was just like him against the world… He did ‘Talk Talk’. That song had a storyline and that is why people did their own radio version and played it. This [WMT] is the highest of it all and that is why people shut it down,” the former manager of Shatta Wale said on Happy FM’s Showbiz Extra, Saturday.

“They put their personal feelings over the artiste’s… The problem with the WMT song is the title. And the thing [profanity] was too much. But if you listen to the one with Tinny, it had a storyline,” Bulldog added.

Shatta Wale’s ‘WMT’ released in May 2016 was met with mixed reactions from the public. While some condemned the song on the basis that it had explicit lyrics, others could not fathom why the song received harsh criticisms when people danced to ‘Talk Talk’ which was also profane only that ‘WMT’ was in Twi while ‘Talk Talk’ was in Ga.
