Twenty-four year old student of IPMC, Lawrence Owusu, popularly known as Short Code has emerged winner of the British Council’s talent-hunt musical competition.
The contest, christened ‘Bring the Noise’, powered by Luv 99.5 FM in Kumasi, is an initiative of the Council to unearth talents in the creative industry with specific focus on music and character building.
Five finalists emerged after a rigorous in-studio preliminary from a field of 75 entrants over two weeks on Luv FM.
The jam hotspot in Kumasi, the Bantama High street was set alight as the five contestants took the stage and dished out dazzling performances.
BFK, Kento, Short Code, Guy Jesus and Teejay, exhibited extraordinary talents in their bid to outshine each other. Short Code was adjudged winner after six hours of exciting exhibition of talent on the stage.
Northern Sector Manager of the British Council, Bridget Adu Gyamfi said she was impressed with the exhibition of talent.
For his prize, ‘Short Code’ receives a home theater, DVD player, and he will represent Ashanti as Bring the Noise Ambassador.
