Controversial Hiplife artiste, Barima Ofori, affectionately called Barima Sidney has paid a glowing tribute to his colleague Omanhene Pozo describing him as one of the pillars of Hiplife following his demise.

He remarked that Pozo contributed immensely to the development of the music industry.

Omanhene Pozo together with Sidney and Nana Hemaa formed the Nananom group in the 1990s but later went solo.

Pozo died after battling with illness at the 37 military hospital last week Wednesday.

Speaking on Ultimate FM’s E-Review hosted by Naa Klordey Odonkor, he described Pozo as a big brother who was always putting him on track and is troubled by his death.

He bemoaned the fact that Omanhene could not live to join him celebrate their twenty years in the industry, saying they have a video which will soon be released in his honour.

"He has always been my big brother, we started together at West Africa Secondary School (WASS) as Nananom group, he was my senior, he was one year ahead of me, myself, Nana Hemaa and him we started in 1995. Right from day one he has been a big brother to me always putting us in check. As a senior, always a senior, so within the Nananom group, he was still bullying us and at the same a big brother to us. Personally, that was what Pozo was to me, a big brother.

Definitely yes I will release the video in memory of him, I remember just on August 10, I visited him at the hospital and I told him to wake up from the hospital bed so that we show the country the true rulers of Hip life.

He kept laughing and smiling and the last days before his demise, he couldn’t talk, he could hear everything but was not able to respond, so I said Charlie hurray. I had so much hope he would get well so that we celebrate our twenty years anniversary, the agenda of our coming back wasn’t solely mine or his," he explained.

He called on his colleague artistes to check up on Pozo’s family.

"We are all in the same game let’s show ourselves love, show some love to the family by calling them," he urged.
