Some social media users have expressed disappointment over the perceived low support for media personality and Guinness World Record contender, Afua Asantewaa, as she attempts to break the record for the ‘Longest Singing Marathon by an Individual.’

Asantewaa is currently aiming to surpass the current record of 105 hours held by Sunil Waghmare of India.

This marks Asantewaa's second attempt after her initial effort in 2023 was disqualified due to rest time violations.

The current attempt is taking place at the Kumasi Baba Yara Sports Stadium Heroes Park Annex.

Despite her determination, netizens have noted a stark contrast in support compared to her first attempt in Accra, where large crowds gathered to cheer her on.

Videos from the livestream show only a few individuals observing her performance in Kumasi.

One user commented, "Afua Asantewaa sings to her husband and a few birds at Kumasi Heroes Park." Another remarked, "Afua Asantewaa’s mom doing solo support. The sing-a-thon is still ongoing."

Criticisms also came from users comparing the support in Kumasi to that in Accra.

"You Kumasi massives, be yawa people. Did y'all not see the support we gave her in Accra last year?" one user posted.

Another added, "Afua Asantewaa got some small fame last year with the sing-a-thon and decided to disrespect Ghanaians. Now it’s just her singing to her husband at Heroes Park in Kumasi; nobody is there."

As Asantewaa's attempt continues, many are hoping for a surge in support as she nears the record-breaking mark.
