Sing "Veritas Melodies" With Father Moses

Gospel music is gradually taking its rightful place in society, thanks to the continuous outdooring of new gospel albums. A few years ago, gospel music was seen as songs for those who were seen to be "Crifes" but now most people, both believers and non-believers in the Christian faith are enjoying it.

The latest to add his name to the tall list of gospel musicians is Father Moses, Osei Atta, O.P, a Dominican Priest in the Kumasi Archdiocese with his debut album Veritas Melodies Vol 1.

The album has 10 tracks sung in both English and Twi suitable for both praise and worship in churches, devotions at home and for many religious gatherings.

The album opens with So Me Mu Awurade, a cool worship song, asking for God's protection and guidance.

Me Sure Anopaa, which calls on God to fill us that we abide in him, has a beautiful reggae beat making it a good one to have anyone move his feet.

The next track, Maranatha has a similar rhythm. It's a song that encourages us to wait upon the Lord to see his face.

For This Reason, which is sung in English, interestingly has a nice highlife beat though cool but danceable. The song talks about God's direction and for which reason a man shall leave his parents and ….

Other songs include Awurade Meda Wo Ase, praise and thanks to the Lord, Te W'anim Kyere Me and Odo Ne Se, which tells us what true love is; peaceful loving and forgiveness of sins.

Veritas Melodies has such other worship songs as, Mete Ase Ma Awurade, calling on God to use us as His vessel since we live for Him.

Echoes of Redemption; is a song that reminds us of how God redeemed us from our troubles and sins.

Mmo Ohemaa pays tribute to the Mother of Jesus for giving man such a Saviour in Christ Jesus.

The album has such inspiring and heart-warming lyrics that listening to it could easily turn hearts unto God.

Father Moses, O.P. who is 36, entered into music because he didn't want his talent in singing to go waste.

He said that though ministering as a Priest is demanding, he tries to combine that with singing especially during Mass.

Father Moses believes that his background as a Priest makes his music exceptional as they fit into the Catholic Church’s historical calendar.

He believes that the quality of gospel music must be improved to meet the spiritual needs of the people.

As a chorister from his childhood days in Sunyani, he became the choirmaster at the Major Seminary in Nigeria with the Dominicans for four years.
