Ghanaian Hip Hop and hiplife recording artiste, Jason Gaisie, popularly known as Pappy Kojo, has admitted being a singer is effortless as compared to doing rap.
The Fante Vandame’s assertion is clear justification for why many Ghanaian rappers have now jilted rap and doing full time singing.
According to him, the composition and arrangement of rap lines make it more difficult than just singing the chorus.
“Singing is easier to do than rap because singing is just like find some words, repeat it and you’re cool with your verse but with rap you need to put your compositions together and go with the beat as well.
“The only difficult thing about singing is the voice but apart from that you can just say anything.”
Asked if he wants to be known for singing, he said, “I love music and I just don’t love rap music so when I get inspired and if I want to do it why not? The rap didn’t go anywhere and I will still lash these rappers.”
Opposing to a question posed to him on why these days rappers aren’t breaking through, the Fante Vandame said, “It’s not true because sometimes it just too much for the boys and at times the ladies crave for the singing more. I did half rap and half singing,” he told Sammy Flex on Zylofon FM.
Pappy Kojo did both singing and rap on his new song which he teams up with Highlife singer Bisa Kdei and Mr Eazi on the smooth midtempo banger tagged ABENA.
