Social media has been buzzing amidst news broke that renowned American rapper Ja Rule has commissioned a six-unit classroom block in the Eastern Region of Ghana.
Ja Rule, whose real name is Jeffery Atkins, first announced his plans in January 2024 via his X handle.
In April of that year, he travelled to Ghana to break ground for the construction of the classroom block at Nuaso Anglican Primary School in the Eastern Region.
One year later, in April 2025, the rapper returned to Ghana to officially commission the completed building.
Videos circulating on social media on April 1, 2025, showed Ja Rule surrounded by Anglican priests and community leaders as he cut the ribbon and inspected the fully furnished classrooms.
This has since sparked a flurry of reactions on social media.
Users have shared a variety of opinions, with some commending the rapper for his selflessness and thoughtfulness in contributing to the development of Ghanaian children.
