After the break up between dancehall artiste Shatta Wale and his former boss Lawrence Asiamah, popularly known as Bulldog, many have been waiting for the artiste to announce his new management team.
In recent times, movie producer, Socrate Sarfo, Chris Koney and others have been seen in the company of Shatta Wale on different occasions fuelling speculations that they may be his new management team.
The movie producer led the ‘Kakai’ hit maker to submit his works and register him as a member of the Ghana Music Rights Organization (GHAMRO).
Not only did Socrate lead Shatta to the GHAMRO office to register as a member but he also led him to the premises of Charter House to submit his works for consideration for the 2016 edition of the Ghana Music Awards on Wednesday, January 13, 2016.
The artiste decided to boycott the award last year and has taken back his words after numerous calls from his fans.
“Well you know I’ve gotten calls everywhere, and it’s mostly from my fans, telling me to forget certain things and move with the system… I feel they are my god, and they pushed my music and got it to where it has to be, and I believe they made me who I am so I told my team since the fans are asking then let’s submit it. I’m a type that doesn’t fancy awards, but since the fans want it, we will submit it whether we win or not,” Shatta Wale told Joy News on MultiTV in an earlier interview.
Socrate in a latest interview with Hitz FM revealed that he will be pleased to be a messenger for Shatta Wale saying, “I will be glad to be an errand boy for a hard working person.”
But Programmes Coordinator of Hitz FM, Mark Okraku Mantey believes that Socrate Sarfo is incompetent and cannot be part of Shatta’s team because they share similar weakness.
He made the observation on Daybreak Hitz (Showbiz Review) on Hitz FM with KMJ on Thursday. “People like Socrate won’t direct the young man well because Socrate himself has a similar weakness,” Mark Okraku Mantey observed. According to him, the unstable nature of both individuals will make working together difficult. Mark continued that Shatta Wale is building a brand for himself and Socrate joining him will see his career take a nose dive.
“Shatta Wale is building a bad brand for himself and the brand is inconsistent. Today he’s saying this, the next day he’s saying that the following day he is saying this. When people are not stable, dealing with them becomes difficult, he is putting everybody in a tough situation,” Mark Okraku Mantey added.
