Sonnie Badu to represent Ghana at ‘Experience 12’ in Nigeria

UK-based international gospel act, Sonnie Badu has once again been selected as the only Ghanaian to perform at this year’s “The Experience 12”.

‘The Experience’, is an annual event put together by the House on Rock Churches in Lagos, Nigeria, is an Interdenominational Gospel conference that features some of the best-known musical talents of our time. “The Experience”, which has now become known as the largest musical concert in Africa attracts over 700,000 people from all walks of life.

This year’s “The Experience 2017 is themed “Jesus is our King” and will be held on December 1, 2017 at Tafawa Balewa Square, Onikan, Lagos, Nigeria at 7pm.

Fifteen artistes have been selected from the United States, Columbia, South Carolina, Kingston, Jamaica, Nigeria and Ghana to perform at the musical conference.

Veteran Don Moen heads the team from the United States of America (USA) with other gospel artistes such as Micah Stampley, Nathaniel Bassey and Donnie McClurkin. The team from Nigerian consists of the Midnight Crew, Chioma Jesus, Tim Godfrey, Onos Ariyo, Eben, Frank Edwards, Tope Alabi and Beejay Sax.

The others are Chevelle Franklyn from Kingston, Jamaica, Travis Greene from Columbia, South Carolina and Sonnie Badu from Ghana.

Sonnie Badu who describes the opportunity as an achievement on its own noted in an interview that “just like how the World Cup is every footballer’s dream, so is “The Experience” every gospel artiste’s dream. For me to lead over 700,000 people to Praise and Worship God is a dream come true and I hope to represent and make Ghana proud on that day.”

The Experience will start with a press conference which will afford the artistes an opportunity to bond and create unity among themselves. At the press conference, the various artistes will also share their experiences and answer questions from a section of the public.

“The Experience”, is convened and hosted by Pastor Paul Adefarasin, who is the Metropolitan Senior Pastor of the House of the Rock Churches. The event which was started in December 2006 with over 70,000 persons in attendance is marking its 12 years.
