Actor and comedian, Jeneral Ntatia
Renowned Ghanaian actor and comedian Prince Kwame Amoabeng, better known as Jeneral Ntatia, has called on Ghanaians to hold politicians accountable for their actions and not allow them to be taken for granted.
In an interview on Joy FM's Showbiz A-Z, Jeneral Ntatia, who previously campaigned for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), expressed his dissatisfaction with the party's unfulfilled promises.
He added that he remains committed to speaking truth to power despite facing criticism from many for his outspoken views.
Jeneral Ntatia also addressed the youth's role in political discourse, encouraging them to voice their concerns rather than suffer in silence.
“Sometimes I bash them and they ask why I do that. But I feel that we should get to a point in Ghana when we should stop allowing politicians to take us for granted. We should stop that thing about ‘I belong to NDC or NPP so when it is even bad, we should be there’. We should speak up.
“I learned something recently on social media about the youth. I am bashing the NPP and they will say because I campaigned for them to assume power, I should keep quiet for us to suffer. It is even better to support and criticize them when things are not going well than to support and keep quiet when things are not going well,” he said.
When questioned about his future political endorsements, Ntatia stated he would take time to review party manifestos before making a decision.
A graduate of Theatre Arts from the University of Ghana's School of Performing Arts, Jeneral Ntatia has established himself as a leading comic figure in Ghana.
His filmography includes roles in 'Keteke', 'Kalybos in China', and 'Mad House'. Recently, he has ventured into stand-up comedy, adding to his diverse repertoire.
Jeneral Ntatia's theatrical contributions have left a lasting impression, with performances in productions such as 'Second Coming of Nkrumah', 'The Leopard's Choice', and 'In the Chest of a Woman', showcasing his versatility and commitment to the arts.
