St Augustine's College wins ECOWAS Quiz

Accra, May 13, GNA- Saint Augustine's College that represented the Central Region on Friday won the ECOWAS preliminary quiz for the southern sector.

The College, represented by Master Raphael Andoh George Owusu had 32 points and 31 points respectively to take the first and second positions.

Master Joshua Addai-Naami and Nsiire Agana who represented Presbyterian Boys Secondary School, Legon for the Greater Accra Region scored 28 and 21 points respectively to win the third and fourth positions.

The Eastern Region represented by Pope John Secondary had Master Theophilus Agyei Danso and Peter John Xatse having 17 points each for the fifth and sixth positions.

The quiz organised by the Ministry of Regional Cooperation and NEPAD formed part of activities marking the 30th anniversary celebration of ECOWAS.

Mr Bismark Agbati, Co-ordinator of the Quiz at the ECOWAS Division of the Ministry said winners from the Southern and Northern zones would contest in the grand finals on a special edition of the "What Do You Know" programme on Ghana Television (GTV).

He said the best candidate would battle other contestants from ECOWAS member countries at Abuja-Nigeria.

The contestants were presented with prizes.

The quizmaster was Mr. Samuel Anan a tutor of Accra Academy.
